As is all known, these %26ldquo;five town-based mountains%26rdquo; boast the equal reputation as %26ldquo;Five Great Mountains%26rdquo; (namely Taishan Mountain in Shandong Province, Huashan Mountain in Shaanxi Province, Hengshan Mountain in Hunan Province, Hengshan Mountain in Shanxi Province and Songshan Mountain in Henan Province), which are collectively crowned as %26ldquo;Ten Famous Mountains of China%26rdquo;. The local governments of these five towns take the initiative to protect, develop and promote their historical and cultural resources and strive to translate them into economic benefits, achieving fruitful results so far.
