On Dec. 31, Xiamen %26ldquo;Taxi Canteen%26rdquo; at Haiyi was officially put into use. Taxi drivers can have their lunch using an E transportation card. The canteen was built by Xiamen government with the help of social resources. It was also a new model to solve the %26ldquo;3 difficulties%26rdquo; of taxi drivers in Xiamen.
On Dec. 31, Pan Shijian, Acting Mayor of Xiamen, presented the plaque for the canteen and had lunch with nearly 100 taxi drivers.
The reporter found the canteen spacious; Covering over 350 square meters, the canteen could accommodate two to three hundred taxi drivers. According to introduction from the canteen, it had a parking space for more than 150 taxis, and only provided lunch at prices as favorable as those for students.
