According to the announcement, since Taiwan tour became available to 13 mainland provinces (cities) as of July 18, 2008, Taiwan has drawn a steady stream of Mainland tourists and the general situation has been good. It has enabled cross-straits tourism exchanges and promoted the common prosperity and development of the tourism across the Straits.
It is released that waypoints for cross-straits passenger charter flights have been increased from 5 to 21, substantially facilitating cross-straits exchanges and helping to make Taiwan tour available to more Mainland citizens. In view of this, Taiwan tour was made available to citizens of another 12 provinces (regions) such as Hebei, Shanxi, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hunan, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hainan, Sichuan and Guizhou, effective as of the date of announcement,
In addition, it is reported that CTEA will conduct relevant work well, including increasing Taiwan tour group-organization agencies, so as to ensure sound and orderly Taiwan tour for Mainland citizens.
